Group IT Project
For a group IT project, we were tasked with creating a prototype for a psychology-based application and a website displaying our app and our journey in its creation.
The aim of the project was to, in teams, go through all of the phases of app research and design to improve our skills in UX, UI, design, user testing and teamwork. As the student undertaking the technology modules, I was tasked with the majority of the design and UX aspects of the project as well as the psychology research.
Design Process
Research
We created “StrengthHub” which allows companies to evaluate their employees character strengths and log teams for various projects displaying these strengths. This allows for project managers and supervisors to evaluate the team’s strengths overall and allow for them to possibly add people to a group where their strengths were needed or to see why a team might be clashing or working well together.
Through our research, we found other programmes that allowed workers to evaluate their strengths and how beneficial this is to workers’ morale and work fulfillment. We focused on a shortened VIA Character Strengths Test, that categorised the 24 strengths into an umbrella strength of either wisdom, transcendence, courage, humanity, justice or temperance. The balance of these strengths were displayed in a pie chart on the top of each team’s page.
