About Me
My name is Ellen Boucher and I am a final year student of Applied Psychology in Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology (IADT). My course is designed to expand knowledge in the fields of psychology, technology and design through interactive and real to life projects and assignments. These assignments range from UX design to qualitative research projects. Through modules such as Usability, Human Computer Interaction, Social Psychology and Research Methods and Statistics, I have accumulated knowledge across various fields.
Skills and Experience
Skills
My course has allowed me to develop key skills in UX research, usability, HCI and design which I will continue to expand on through online courses I have undertaken in my free time. These online courses include an introductory course in web accessibility which is an area I am especially interested in.

I am a skilled researcher and problem solver, keen to continue learning and understanding users and their needs. I have experience working and collaborating with others on various projects including the creation of an app prototype. I am a logical, adaptable and organised worker who gives her all to the task at hand and I am always ready to get stuck into a project. I am proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as well as experience using InVision when prototyping.
Psychology & Design
I have a huge interest in how psychology can be included in the design process of many different technological processes that can improve everyday life for users such as in educational technology. Previous college projects in the past have allowed me to research this area when creating a prototype for a budgeting website for users with dyscalculia or when creating an app prototype to encourage young people to improve their health literacy. I also have a keen interest in the area of web accessibility and recently created a presentation on the cognitive accessibility of virtual learning environments.
